TEAM 2011-2012

An entire year has gone by since we stepped into the shoes of our seniors and took on the responsibilities of the Alumni Cell. It was a journey that will be cherished by each one of us for various reasons. Today it is time to pass on the baton to another team that is raring to go. We would like to thank all those who helped us in making our tasks a little bit easier while we were here and we hope that you will continue to help the new team in your own special way. Join us in welcoming THE ALUMNI CELL 2011-2012.... The heart of PUMBA!!!!!

Nostalgia 2011

Even at dusk, as nightfall stealthily approaches, everything is illuminated by the aura of Nostalgia. Missing someone gets easier every day because even though it's one day further from the last time you saw each other, it's one day closer to the next time you will.

Two days later, you will once again be stepping into the hallways of PUMBA. It isn't what it used to be, it’s much more than a reunion this time... more than skits and dances, it’s an evening to revel in the ambience of a college fest.

Invitation

It is that time of the year when the Alumni Cell is once more, buzzing with activity. The Chapter Meets are just around the corner and the anticipation is palpable. We have been joined by a fresh new team overflowing with enthusiasm, ideas and energy, thus infusing new life into the cell. The invitation calling has begun in full swing and about 300 odd calls are being made every day.

Last year we were delighted with the turnout at the Chapter Meets at the various cities and this year too we are looking forward to welcoming an even larger number of Alumni.

We, students at PUMBA, have been doing a 8 day internship with Pune police. We will be working with Pune police for 8 days and would understand how they work. Objective of this mission is to reduce the negative impression of Pune police from the layman's mind and to bring police and public closer. And also to motivate pune police to work more honestly and with more enthusiasm. This program has been initiated by Pune Police Commisionor Ms Meera Borankar with the help of our Dean Capt Chitale.

Following is the Road Map of this internship.

Today, I had a meeting with Dr. Paul Kim, CTO, Stanford School of Education who told me about this new OLPC computer. The new OLPC computer is a tablet, has looks like the iPad and its probably going to give the iPad a run for its money.new OLPC The tablet may achieve the original pricepoint of $100 (Rs 4,500) for the device. Marvell’s new Moby educational tablet platform based on ARM-based chips serve as the brains of this re-designed low-power tablet computer.
