The look on his face is gloomy. The feeling is contagious and the within no time the entire group of friends feels the same. Everyone in the group is more or less the same, aspiring post-graduates, same group, perhaps even the same class or specialization but for one difference. A few get placed early on and the remaining will too sooner or later get placed. No wonder those who miss getting placed by a whisker feel depressed. But is it a big deal?

After sometime you get tired of reading non-fiction books on management. The reason is that most of them literally shout at your face to do this, or do that or follow the umpteenth habit of a highly effective person and so on and so forth, which seems all very banal. More or less you have already come across such concepts during your MBA and the language of such books is very dull and rhetorical.

PUMBAites have a huge appetite, so when it is time for a sumptuous lunch we are the first to queue up, and if the lunch is held just once every year it becomes all the more tempting. But on that auspicious day it was not just food for the stomach but food for the mind and soul too. On Saturday, 5th January, 8:30 am onwards, Le Meridein at Pune, witnessed the convergence of professionals from industry and academia - Vision 2020, a National Seminar organized by PUMBA.

Indian cinema might not have come of age but Aamir Khan certainly has. After proving his prowess in acting with films like Rang De Basanti and Lagaan (both were sent to the Oscar’s from India) he has again proved himself as a director. With TZP he has painted a beautiful picture of a dyslexic child on the cinematic canvas.

Of all the aids that technology has blessed us with, NONE can replace a TEACHER. It happens many a time that I feel so happy at the end of a lecture that I feel like clapping and applauding the lecturer. The attention that a teacher commands is stupendous.
