Q. Who can register ?
A. This is an open forum where anyone can join. If you are interested in networking with Pumba Alumni, you are welcome to register yourself and participate.
Q. What are your guidelines for posting?
A. You can post about your business/job, personal blog, book or movie reviews, photo blog, audio/video podcasting etc. Spam or explicit advertising is not allowed. If you want to advertise on this website, please contact <webmaster at pumba-alumni dot com.>
Q. What's a blog ?
A. Web-log is a popular way of maintaining an online log of just about anything. It could be about your experience as a student on campus, logs of cultural events or even related to interesting things you experience in your personal life.
You can make your blog more interesting with photos. Here's a tutorial on how to create blog and blog any photo
Q. How do I create a photo album and upload photos?

Q : How can I allow other users to contact me?
A. For others to contact you, you must enable following settings in your "my account" settings. Just make sure that the following options are enabled. The other person will not be able to see your email address unless you reply back to that person.

Q. Why do I see "Access denied" messages?
A. You need to login or register to the website to see some of the content or to post comments.
Q. How do I make an audio podcast?
A. You will be surprized to know that audio podcast are easy to create - you just require a PC or a laptop with built-in or external microphone. You must also download free open-source software Audacity. Click here to learn more about audio podcasting.

Q. How do I listen to mp4 audio?
A. You can play this format in the free Quicktime/iTunes player.
Those who prefer to use the free WinAmp to listen to music & podcast can download the m4a plugin here. Install it in WinAmp\Plugins directory. (See image below)

Q. How do I post video content?
A. At present, we support only Quicktime movie format. The quicktime movie can exist on a different server - you can just provide the URL. Or you can upload the movie and provide a link.
If you need help to convert AVI, Windows media or Real media to Quicktime, please contact the webmaster.
Q. Why do I see a skull in my profile?
A. If you dont upload your photo then it defaults to a skull picture - because a pirate like you doesn't like to be seen. 

Q. Do I have to pay to use the website?
A. No. Registration and use of website is free. However, we do welcome donations of any amount. that help us to maintain this website and cover cost of hosting etc. Click here to Donate. Donors get 100 user points for every donation they make.
Q. What are user points? How can I get them?
A. User points are automatically given to users who post blogs, write comments etc. It is an indication of the activity of the user. You get points by participating - more points increase your visibility among your peers.
Audio/video podcasts get you 5 points. For most of other activity, you get a single point. Donors get user points for every donation they make.
Q. Do you have any tutorials?
A. Yes, these help tutorials will guide you on how to use the website.
