Friends,
Dunno whether this is the right place and the right approach but I felt that people needed to think on these lines too.
For winter projects people are very choosey and they want to take up winter projects that are very specific to their specializations. I think the other way round.I think that besides using winters as a tool to add to your experience in your specialization, you should also use it as a tool to get experience in other specializations. I think from the point of view of being a complete manager and hence I believe that one should know how each and every department functions and what better way to do that then Winter projects.
Imagine getting the experience of working in each and every department in a year and that too part time. Imagine how much would that broaden one's views and horizon. Our college prescribes ATLEAST one winter project, it does not say how many max. I plan to use this and do winter projects in all areas of specialization in the first year itself. Frankly, speaking where else will you get a chance to work in a particular specialization knowing fully well that it is not going to be your main one. I know doing more than one is not going o be easy but then I dont think that I have taken up MBA to have an easy life :-).
Would appreciate if all my friends including the alumni provide me with valuable inputs on my thoughts.
P:S:- I was trying for Winters in SONY (MKT) and TATA MOTORS(HR), am out of sony coz never knew when the interviews happened. Hoping that the same wont happen in tata motors.
