PUMBA, under the aegis of UoP, has (again) revamped its entire course structure. PUMBA will now offer MBA ++

Yes a course to bridge the gap between industry needs and university training, the University of Pune has bid adieu to its Masters in Business Administration (MBA) course to launch a revamped version - the MBA++. This course, that will be based on the trimester system, will have students taking up dual specialisations in not only the functional aspects of management, but also in one specific sector.

The MBA++, which will begin immediately from July this year, will be a two-year programme with three semesters each year. In the first year, students will acquaint themselves with the basics of management principles. In the second year, students will take up two specialisations.

1) A functional specialisation in streams like marketing, finance, operations, or human resources,

2) A Sectoral specialisation in one specific field. 5 fields - banking and insurance, engineering, health care, information technology and IT enabled services, and retail.

These two specialisations can be chosen in 30 different combinations.

“The course aims at creating sectoral specialists who are ready for the industry. The sectoral specialisation courses will be taught by industry experts, who will also be a part of the syllabus formation,” said UoP Vice Chancellor Narendra Jadhav.
