This is my first blog after joining the 6th Batch of MBA BT @ PUMBA. Just two days have passed and the induction is still on, will continue for another day. Amidst heavy rains (it was raining cats and dogs when i came to pune for the induction on 2nd of July) and concerns regarding accomodation the induction was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the induction and will continue to do so.

First of all i made a lot of new freinds, a refreshing change from the mundane life in Mumbai. There were engineers, pharmacy graduates, doctors and what not. You mention a qualification in life sciences and you got that in the PUMBA BT batch of 2007-2009. I had expected the induction to be a routine affair but it turned out to be great fun and learning experience. It was like a preparatory camp before actually going through the rough.

The induction lectures by all the faculty members were very interactive and gripping. HOD Prof. Anil Keskar, Prof. R. H. Chitale and others gave a glimpse of what is to come besides instilling in us the values of PUMBA culture and University of Pune, which is one of committment and values. Of special mention was the meeting with industry stalwart Mr. Ranade and the first HOD of PUMBA. The management games by Mr. Ranade were the most enjoyable part. The games were so simple but taught us teamwork, committment and the most important thing how to have fun while working. He asked us to develop child like curiosity which is essential to achieve success in every sphere of life not only management. Then there was interaction of seniors who gave us a surprise attack.

I would refrain mentioning what actually happened and reserve it for the next batch to find out, but it was fun too. It was good to see the entire batch quickly become friends with each other. The seniors were very helpful and patiently answered all our queries perhaps because they had been through the travails before.
