How many IT people PUMBA is contributing (or how many of us are becoming part of this Phenomenon)???

While welcoming new Batch of 2007-9, remembering discussion with few of past & present students about why many PUMBAites are not thinking of Career in IT when they are in campus. Following are few of the shocking answers I got,

1. Lack of IT awareness
2. Lack of proper mentoring
3. Offdated syllabus/course contents
4. Over confidence of students about their IT awareness & industry
5. Focus of everyone towards Marketing

I don't claim this is the general opinion of all the PUMBAites. But I want new batch to analyze & brainstorm this topic and come to conclusion

• How many of us can become part of this phenomenon this year?
• How we will have to prepare ourselves to become part of the highly growing IT industry?
