A Superb COP Movie After A Long Time...
I recently got transferred to Bangalore and was setting up & arranging the TV Channels. Generally I put all the regional langauage channel at the back of the list as
a) I dont watch them &
b) I don't understand the language as well. (English, Hindi & Marathi are three languages I know).
While surfing the channels, I came across a Music Channel and there I saw trailer of this movie with Kamal Hasan portraying the Super COP and doing all dhishoom dishoom. When I next visited my Chennai office, I asked my colleagues the name of the movie. I could not remember it as there was a language barrier.
Day before yesterday, I visited my DVD parlour and asked for this movie DVD so that I can atleast understand this with the help of sub titles. And, I had a Gala time watching this flick. There is not a single scene in the movie which I didnt understand or enjoy.

The Plot / Story:-
This is a story of a Police Officer (DCP Raghavan) in Tamil Nadu. A fearless, dedicated, honest Police officer. This officer is called by his one time superior to investigate about his missing daughter. The missing case turns out to be a murder without a single clue or suraag as they say in Hindi. Devastated by the only daughter's murder without a reason, the parents decide to leave India and settle in USA. It's a personal loss for DCP Raghavan but there is nothing he could do. And some time later Raghavan receives the news of brutal killing of his superior and his wife.
Raghavan decides to fly down to US on behalf of TN Police and then starts this HUNTING GAME. (The meaning of the title of the movie) what all happens in US and then India is this movie all about.
Performances:-
Kamal Hasan is simply awsome in the role of DCP Raghavan. An honest, dedicated and sharp police officer. HIs movements and action scenes are still like a 25-30 years old actors or may be better than them. He is very well supported by Jyothika. Jyothika palyed Aradhana, a separated mother of 11 months old daughter. I havent seen many of Jyothika's movies except the one in which she came with Akshaye Khanna, but I am sure she is one of the better actresses in Indian cinema (Hindi & Regional).
South Indian movies always score higher on production values and this movie is not an exception. It's made with very high production values. The producer didnt think twice before spending money and the outcome is superb.
All in all, a very good experience of watching a movie in a language which I don't understand but enjoyed every bit of it.
Those who like action packed COP Movies, this is the best treat for them.

Dying to Watch
Fri 09/07/07 by futurestudentAfter reading your review all I can say is that I am dying to watch this movie. And your observation that South Indian movies score higher on production values is very true. Many successful Indian movies are a remake of their South Indian counterparts. Examples include Tere Naam, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, the list is endless. With a top notch actor like Kamal Hassan this one is bound to be a treat.
