Greetings Pumbaites, needless to say that the global slowdown has started biting the Indian industry, now more than ever, and during this phase everyone is fighting and trying to keep up the spirit. Similar would be the scene in Campus, I believe...with slowdon impacting the hiring plans of most companies thereby hitting the B-school junta there-where it hurts the most.
But these are the factors not under your or my or anybody's control...the best use that you guys make of this time is to keep up the spirit and start interacting more and more with your alums.
For close to four decades, Pumbaites have been in the industry...they've seen and successfully surged such and more situations. All this immense wealth of experience and knowledge gathered o ver time is up for grabs for you guys, & add to it the interactive media you have at your disposal....what more to desire....all you have to do is to shoot a query here and I am sure, all of us in the industry will be more than eager to respond and help...
Counting on alums, only for getting companies on campus for recruitment is'nt such a good idea...it is secondary and would happen anyways... its the value that you derive out of association with alums, that matters...else what's the difference between a B-school opened a couple of years back and the one that's been circa '71.
We've hardly seen any participation from existing students initiating meaningful interaction with alums
This portal's purpose is not for serving as a newsboard only....its for every Pumbaite.. Interact and make optimal use of it....
Cheers,
Ankit

Most global companies demand the ability to work with virtual teams.
