Blog for students on campus to share their experiences.

Invitation

It is that time of the year when the Alumni Cell is once more, buzzing with activity. The Chapter Meets are just around the corner and the anticipation is palpable. We have been joined by a fresh new team overflowing with enthusiasm, ideas and energy, thus infusing new life into the cell. The invitation calling has begun in full swing and about 300 odd calls are being made every day.

Last year we were delighted with the turnout at the Chapter Meets at the various cities and this year too we are looking forward to welcoming an even larger number of Alumni.

We, students at PUMBA, have been doing a 8 day internship with Pune police. We will be working with Pune police for 8 days and would understand how they work. Objective of this mission is to reduce the negative impression of Pune police from the layman's mind and to bring police and public closer. And also to motivate pune police to work more honestly and with more enthusiasm. This program has been initiated by Pune Police Commisionor Ms Meera Borankar with the help of our Dean Capt Chitale.

Following is the Road Map of this internship.

With bated breath we waited for the first of the alumnus to show up for the event that was exclusively hosted for the Batch of 1990 – REMINISCENCE. Slowly but surely they came. Our aim was for them to relive their days in the university and hence the point of gathering was chosen as the University Canteen. The enthusiasm on meeting each other was there for all to witness. They greeted each other with hugs and names that, only, they knew the significance of. Breakfast for a typical student here is the famous vada pav or poha and that is exactly what they feasted on. This was followed by a walk through the winding paths of the University all the way to the campus of PUMBA.

How many times do you wish to go back to the good old carefree days of your college going years??? It is the truth of life that once you leave those gates and enter the cut throat world, you have to work hard to achieve that, what you had dreamt of. In this milieu, often, you lose sight of those that were once your best buddies. However it isprecisely for this reason that we exist. We are here to ensure that the bond between friends always remains unbroken. With this in mind we present to you Reminiscence.

Since its inception in 1971, PUMBA boasts of 4000+ Alumni Base all over the world.
Recently it started new center in Ras-Al-Khiamah UAE.
PUMBA Chapter Meet is an Annual Alumni Meet held in 5 cities viz, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore.

Symptoms of H1N1 Flu (Swine Flu)

Luck, labour, chance

The look on his face is gloomy. The feeling is contagious and the within no time the entire group of friends feels the same. Everyone in the group is more or less the same, aspiring post-graduates, same group, perhaps even the same class or specialization but for one difference. A few get placed early on and the remaining will too sooner or later get placed. No wonder those who miss getting placed by a whisker feel depressed. But is it a big deal?

The University of Pune in collaboration with Queen Mary's Technical Institute (QMTI) will now offer a one year diploma course in management, "Diploma in Industrial Administration and Service Management" for disabled soldiers, ex-servicemen Personnel Below Office Rank (PBOR) and their dependents.

The Raison d'etre behind this course is the employability of disabled soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents in the current market environment should increase manifold. This course will help to change the mindsets of the military men to civil working life. This course shall ensure them suitable jobs in many sectors e.g. Security,
management, retail management, banking and insurance services.
